We have had a whirlwind of activity here on the farm the past two weeks!
We were blessed with a visit from my cousin Jenn and her family over the Memorial Day weekend. We really enjoyed spending time with cousin Jenn, her daughter Barbie, her hubby Patrick, and their new baby boy Ronan. We had an impromptu mini family reunion hot dog roast and fishing fun on Sunday evening with my sister, Alice, my nephews, Gideon and Patrick, my son, Matthew and his sweet girlfriend, Jessie. It was so great to spend a holiday with family!!

Now that's a handful! |
After Jenn and the family left for Disney, we settled back into the farm routine. I mentioned to my farmer man that I knew of a lady, who had purchased some chicks from us, who was in need of some help. She was supposed to have help in preparing for the chicks to go outside and in raising them, but that didn't work out. She was using a dog kennel to house them in, which was fine for now, but they will be growing quickly and would need more room.
My sweet farmer man, being the caring person he is, went to work building her a chicken coop to house the flock safely. He was off this next week for vacation so we prefabbed some of the coop before we headed up on Monday to surprise her.

As my farmer man added a ramp for the chicks I worked on securing the wire top. |
|
The chicks approved even before the ramp was installed! |
It was so nice to help out a fellow farmer! All the material we used were from previous projects around the farm and the only expense she had was purchasing the chicken wire and zip ties to cover the run. I have the best farmer man <3
We spent the rest of week working around the farm getting needed projects completed and hatching out new chicks and keets.

Sunday was a day of rest, family and fun. We enjoyed a visit from my son, Matt, and his sweet girlfriend, Jessie. We spent the day playing video games, roasting hot dogs over the brush pile fire, taking a trip to Tractor Supply, Cabelas, and Costco, eating take out Chinese by the pond and doing some fishing too.

It has been a great two weeks on fun, family, friends, meeting new farm folks when they come to pick up chicks and keets and time on the farm just getting things done. We are so blessed!
Keep an eye out for Friday Farm Fotos.....a lot of great things going on here at the farm!
